WHAT IS A MODERN-DAY ELOPEMENT?

A modern day elopement can mean SO many things… But ultimately it is an intimate experience designed for you + your partner to have the wedding day of your dreams. Yes, YOUR dreams! That means a day that is stress-free, light-hearted + personal. You don’t have to deal with entertaining large crowds + it allows you to have more personalized vows, rituals, and a day that is more uniquely yours!

IF YOU + YOUR PARTNER PLANNED OUT A PERFECT DAY, WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?

a question I often ask my couples is: if you and your partner planned the perfect day, what would it look like?

Before you finish reading, think about it… What would the perfect day be for you + your partner from the time you wake up, to the time you fall asleep? What would you do? What would you see? What would you eat?

One of my couples said they would hike to the top of a mountain,  rent an airbnb in the desert + play music together. Others would have a chef cook their favorite foods. Some would rent a car to travel to different scenery throughout the day + have a picnic brunch.

Whatever your vision of a perfect day is, should be how you should elope.

WHY A FULL DAY ELOPEMENT??

Know that you are still deserving of celebrating your love for a full day even if it is on a smaller scale + more intimate. In many ways, it will make your day more special! So… this is your sign to book the makeup artist, plan a whole day of activities + go all out for your elopement!

ELOPING DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE TO EXCLUDE FAMILY + FRIENDS

Like I mentioned before… Your elopement day is entirely what you want it to be! A great way to include family + friends is to have an intimate reception at the end of the day at your airbnb, a small venue, or a family member’s backyard!

This helps many of my couples feel like they get a balance between having an intimate day with their partner + still sharing it with those closest to them.

SO… HOW DO YOU PLAN AN ELOPEMENT?!

There are so many different ways you can elope, it can be overwhelming! Always start big… Brainstorm you and your partner’s dream day. From there, start your research! I always recommend reaching out to an experience elopement photographer to help guide you through the process. Next, start booking! Pick your ideal Start by picking your ideal location to elope, and then start filling in the blanks (where to stay, food, and other concrete plans!). Lastly, begin finalizing- this means purchasing a wedding dress, finding vendors, and developing a timeline.
